AV Technician

Basic Function

To be responsible and accountable for the daily operations of the Audio Visual department for events at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Scope of the Position

The AV Store Technician, AV Technician reports to the Audio Visual (AV) Manager, Director of Operations and administers the daily management of Audio Visual (AV) department, personnel, equipment and events in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in accordance with company policies, standards, and procedures. To be responsible and accountable to coordinate and deliver for the daily operation of the AV department services for events at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Job Specification

The incumbent of this position would be expected to have the following competencies:

  • A background in audio visual, communications and management in a corporate environment.
  • Proven contemporary leadership qualities and the ability to effectively oversee the scheduling of staff resources and deliver events within budget.
  • Highly customer focused with demonstrable proactive qualities and exceptional administration, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in technical knowledge of audio visual and communications systems in a corporate event environment.
  • Experience in ascertaining and providing technical services to clients and have experience in event rostering and the deployment of staff resources to service multiple clients and inventory of equipments.
  • Possess advanced computer skills; have considerable experience in providing general administrative support and must be able to demonstrate effective prioritizing of tasks and attention to detail.
  • Leading a team to effectively cater to the needs of a diverse client base while maximizing skill & opportunities of audio visual systems within the centre and to ensure the delivery of events within budget and on time.
  • Knowledge and understanding the department and organisation applicable Safety, Health, Environmental (SHE) legal requirement.
  • Knowledge and understanding Food, Quality, Environment, Safety & Health Management System (FOQESH) management system.
