Marketing Communications (MARCOM) Manager

Basic Function

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Communications (MARCOM) Manager to promote the Centre and its products and services to achieve a profitable business mix. Develop and manage marketing and communication programmes in specific channels, support business objectives, lead acquisition, foster customer retention, provide sales support, and advance brand building.


Scope of the Position

The Marketing Communications (MARCOM) Manager works in partnership with the Sales Team and Senior Management Team, and other marketing staff to create and manage all marketing and communications activities.

The position encompasses completion and/or oversight of all marketing deliverables including: corporate website, social media, creative materials and collateral, marketing campaigns, and industry events. This individual is responsible for management and supervision of the marketing communications team and reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

The Marketing Communications (MARCOM) Manager is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the Centre’s image, maintaining commercial effectiveness in marketing material/projects as well as the identification of new opportunities to enhance the Centre’s image.

Monitors all social media, digital marketing and sales collateral, liaison with external agencies, expenses, appraisals and training etc.

Administration and management of the MARCOM budget and allocations to specified projects within the MARCOM Department, with responsibility for updating of systems and procedures relating to organizational requirements.


Responsibilities

The incumbent will be expected to have the following competencies:

  • Knowledge of on online marketing strategies, methods and tools to promote and effectively market company offerings to the target audience via a variety of online media platforms.
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles of good marketing practices and the legal aspects of publishing.
  • Establish corporate standards and procedures as appropriate to maintain consistency to ensure consistent branding across all marketing and communications platforms for all business units.
  • Lead all brand positioning, marketing planning and marketing campaign execution in collaboration with other disciplines such as Media Planning and Public Relations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local, regional and international media and have an extensive network of local contacts.
  • Oversee and assist with the writing, editing, and coordination of publishing blog posts, press releases, social media content and articles.
  • Knowledge of crisis communications and media management.
  • Partner with advertising and media specialists to increase marketing results.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and promotional print and digital campaign planning.
  • Make recommendations to alter marketing tactics and strategy to meet changing business and market needs.
  • Generate monthly reports on our marketing campaign’s performance.
  • Partner with sales team to evaluate and recommend most effective uses of CRM.
  • Optimize website and social media channels for SEO as well as usability.
  • Communicate with DOSM & Senior management about marketing initiatives and project metrics, as well as to brainstorm fresh strategies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels, the media, clients and the general public.
  • Manage all aspects of marketing operations, including key personnel.
  • Monitor success of marketing campaigns and report results to Senior Management.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Marketing and Communications team, including oversight of deliverables, workload management, skills development and general professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing/ Mass Comm / Business or other relevant professional such as Digital Marketing Specialist / Certified practitioner.
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience in the PR or Communications field in a marketing or communications role with increasing complexity and responsibility
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in a formal management role.
  • Extreme attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities, while prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Strong persuasive copy writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Understanding of website management technology, e-mail marketing systems, and customer relationship management (CRM) data.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate in writing and verbally with staff and customers and possess a high level of computer literacy.
  • Strong project management and delivery skills with ability to balance several assignments at once.
