LAS VEGAS, 10 October 2017 – The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre), Malaysia’s premier award-winning purpose-built facility and Asia’s only AIPC (International Association of Congress Centres) Gold Standard venue, is celebrating its 11th consecutive attendance at IMEX (Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings & Events) America 2017 with an emphasis on strengthening client relations & industry collaboration.

Speaking on the sidelines of IMEX America, the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, shared, “We are excited to be here, as IMEX gives us a superb platform to reach our North American audience. The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre has so much to offer US event organisers. We provide an ideal ‘soft landing’ for US events in Southeast Asia, because of our strategic location and integrated precinct proposition which remains a powerful differentiator.”

“The Centre has great accessibility and connectivity to accommodation, dining, shopping, entertainment and iconic attractions all within walking distance. Our value for money offerings and favourable currency exchange rate also make organising an event here very affordable. The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index 2017 has also ranked Malaysia second among nine South East Asian nations based on its price competitiveness, strong air connectivity and beautiful natural environment.” Pryor continued.

The Centre recently enhanced their value proposition further by strengthening its collaboration with industry partners in the precinct through the establishment of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Business Events Alliance (KLCC BEA). A private sector initiative, the KLCC BEA provides a seamless and single point of first contact for Meeting Planners and Event Organisers. This powerful collective with customised benefits enable the Centre to position itself as a fully-integrated meeting and events solution.

The Centre has had a lot of success attracting events from North America and looks forward to welcoming the 22nd Congress of the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists (WCET) 2018; Global Round World Scholar Cup 2018 and International Congress for Conservation Biology 2019 in the near future.

“The International Congress for Conservation Biology 2019 will be the first US-based event we will host following the opening of our exciting expansion underway and due for completion in mid-2019,” added Pryor.

The extension will provide an additional 11,000 sqm of flexible and multi-purpose space, enhancing the Centre’s existing world-class infrastructure, grow Kuala Lumpur’s reputation as a premier business events destination and help attract more international events to Malaysia.

“IMEX provides us with a great opportunity to emphasise to the North American audience on why Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur has much to offer organisers considering hosting their events in Asia. As such we continue to invest resources into attracting businesses from the US,” Pryor concluded.

Attendees at IMEX America can visit the Centre at Booth D2841 to discover the fantastic business event opportunities provided by Malaysia, including the Centre’s flexible, innovative value propositions and its customised client centric solutions under its partnership approach.
