KUALA LUMPUR, 11 December 2019 – The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) has won the “Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad” in the Large Employer: Service category at the recent Human Resource Development (HRD) Awards 2019. The Centre also received the Pearl Award at the HRD Awards ceremony, which recognises organisations who practice and encourage a work-life balance for their employees through hosting activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.

In addition, the venue was awarded Bronze in the Employer of Choice Award - Private Sector at the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management’s (MIHRM) Malaysia HR Awards 2019, which recognises sustained and continuous commitment by organisations towards the development of its human talents.

According to the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, “We are honoured to receive all three accolades, which add to another HR-related award – the ‘Contribution to Organisation’ award which we won at the Asia HRD Awards 2019. These accolades are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our HR Department and our entire team. They also are a true reflection of our vision, ‘We turn heads by making a difference’, where the Centre’s core values are underpinned by our organisational commitment to provide a seamless customer journey through excellence in our employees.”

He continued, “Talent development and skills enhancement have always been a priority in our overall operations. In fact, this is the second time we have won the prestigious “Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad”. This reflects the great emphasis we place on the development of human capital and future leaders not just for our organisation, but the local hospitality and business events industry as well.”

The Centre’s Director of Human Resources, Muhammad Vickneswaran, added, “The Pearl Award is another proud accomplishment for our team. Improving work-life balance and employee satisfaction is at the core of our decision-making. Our employees are encouraged to be creative, passionate and innovative, in order to reflect the brand and the values of the Centre.”

“As such, receiving these accolades, which recognises our efforts to attract, develop and retain local talent, provides great inspiration for us to continue on our journey to create a vibrant, inclusive and progressive workplace that puts people first,” he concluded.
