The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Records Highest-Ever Banquets and Functions Revenue

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 February 2017 ­– The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) registered a 40% rise in revenue from its banquet and function events during 2016, under the Corporate Sales segment, as compared to the previous year (2015). The banquets and functions revenue was the highest-ever recorded in a calendar year since opening in 2005. The Centre hosted 102 banquets and functions last year compared to 75 in 2015, a 26% increase year-on-year.

Elaborating on the achievement, the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, said, “We are fortunate to have a strong base of loyal clients across the board. The Corporate Sales segment includes many long-standing recurrent clients who have helped shape our culinary distinction and their interest in creative, unique and multi-cultural culinary offerings have enhanced our team’s passion to deliver truly distinctive experiences that have culminated in the Centre’s exemplary reputation.”

Pryor added, “To kick start the new year and reward our loyal recurrent clients and entice new regulars, we recently unveiled our ‘Gold Standard’ promotion which prices our banquets and functions menus from RM192.39 nett per person for bookings made before 28 February 2017.”

Attributing the Centre’s performance to its knowledgeable and professional team’s flexible mind-set, which allows them to deliver innovative, value-add and customised solutions to clients, Pryor, congratulated the team on achieving the milestone.

Pryor continued, “While large-scale events provide the backbone of our business mix, the importance of Banquets and ‘smaller’ Corporate Sales events cannot be underestimated and are definitely valued.”
