Giving Back and Getting Healthy!

Over the last few months, the Centre’s team members have been busy giving back to the community and getting active. This included:

10th Annual Buka Puasa Gathering
This year, the Centre welcomed 100 children from Living Hope and Yayasan Generasi Gemilang (GG), as well as 50 National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Malaysia patients and their families to an evening of fun and festivities.
Kicking off the exciting gathering, the Centre’s award-winning chefs, team members and media friends led the young VIPs in decorating giant ‘Hari Raya-themed’ cookies with colourful royal icing, sprinkles, chocolate buttons and an assortment of other delicious toppings!
All guests were then treated to the Centre’s ‘Kampung Classics’, a sumptuous buka puasa feast combining contemporary and traditional favourites.
The delightful night ended with Alan Pryor and the senior management team handing out sweet treats courtesy of the Culinary team, and duit raya to the children from Living Hope and GG, as well as NKF patients and their families.

10th Consecutive Blood Donation Campaign
This year’s event saw 81 kind-hearted donors, both staff and members of the public working and visiting the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) precinct, as people embraced the World Blood Donor Day 2017 ‘What can you do?’ theme and volunteered to give their blood to help save others.
Held in conjunction with the National Blood Centre (NBC) to raise awareness and encourage more people to donate to this good cause, the Centre also partnered with InvestKL, who proudly supported the campaign with 12 team members donating.

Earth Hour 2017
420 team members and their families gathering at the Centre’s seventh Earth Hour and joined millions of people and organisations worldwide in “going dark” on 25 March from 8:30pm to 9:30pm, in support of World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour.
During the event, the venue not only turned off all non-essential lights but held a variety of interactive activities to further educate team members and their families on nature, the environment and the Earth Hour initiative. Pre-event, the Centre also created a ‘green quiz’ which was circulated among team members with the top four submissions winning a prize.
Second Place in the Eighth MAH KL Futsal Tournament
The Centre’s Futsal team fought gallantly in their 3-2 defeat against Impiana KLCC in the Malaysian Association of Hotels-KL Chapter (MAH KL) Futsal Tournament final. The eighth edition of the tournament saw the Centre’s team compete against 50 teams for a spot in the final.
Big congratulations to Futsal team and the Centre’s Ambassador of the Asset Department, Mohd Esham Aman, who was awarded man-of-the match in the final.
