NA Educational Visit

Unique Malaysian Experience Wins Americans' Heart!
It was a ‘truly Malaysian experience’ for 18 North America meeting planners on an educational visit to the Centre as part of the North America Education Trip to Malaysia 2015 organised by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB).

The visitors were treated to a ‘Malaysia Truly Asia’ gastronomic journey with a  menu of local favourites such as Kampung seafood soup in batu lesung (traditional lemongrass and laksa leaf seafood soup), Ayam Percik (Malay version of a chicken roulade with local spices), Rendang Tok (spicy beef braised in coconut milk), Oriental braised soya duck, Nasi Kerabu (rice cooked with petals from butterfly-pea flowers) and much more, served up by the Centre’s award-winning 51-strong culinary team.

The group also participated in four of eight, activities from the Centre’s unique and interactive Cultural Showcase. To the soothing sounds of the gamelan (traditional Malay orchestra), they tried their hand at batik and henna painting and Chinese calligraphy, with some taking home their personal ‘work of art!’. The other showcase offerings are basket weaving, wood carving, songket (hand-woven silk or cotton intricately patterned with gold or silver threads) weaving and pewter smithing.
Offered under the RM100,000 (US$23,900) Conventions Value-Add Programme which includes hosting of site inspections, pre-function meetings plus a cocktail reception or a media conference hosted by the Centre and, for confirmed events, 10 tickets to the PETRONAS Twin Towers skybridge, the complimentary Cultural Showcase gives  international delegates a snapshot of the country’s rich and diverse cultural heritage…without having to leave the facility.  A great convenience for those with limited time to visit attractions or undertake pre- and post-tours indeed!
