National holidays in May to June 2017 are:
1 May (Monday)
Labour Day, which celebrates the economic and social achievements of the world’s workers, is a national holiday for Malaysia as well as for more than 80 other countries around the world.
Chinese New Year

10 May (Wednesday)
Wesak Day, also spelt Vesak, is one of the most important festivals in the Buddhist calendar as it commemorates three significant events in Lord Gautama Buddha’s life – his birthday, his enlightenment and his achievement of Nirvana. Buddhists offer prayers and burn joss sticks and incense as well as contribute food and donations to the needy to commemorate the occasion.
Federal Territory Day

3 June (Saturday) 
The first Saturday in June each year is the ceremonial date that celebrates the Agong’s (Malaysian King’s) Birthday.  A host of events and ceremonies are held in the Federal capital, Kuala Lumpur, including “Trooping of the Colour” and a rousing performance by a military band to signify the Malaysian Armed Forces' loyalty to His Majesty. 
 
Thaipusam

12 June (Monday)
Peninsular Malaysia celebrates Nuzul Al-Quran which falls on the 17th day of Ramadan and commemorates the day when the first verse of Al-Quran, Islam’s sacred book, was revealed.

25 – 27 June (Sunday – Tuesday)
Hari Raya Aidilfitri or the Festival of the Breaking of Fast marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of dawn-to-sunset fasting.
