KLTB Driving Kuala Lumpur’s Business Events Industry Forward!

With business events expected to be a key driver for the further growth and development of Kuala Lumpur as a global tourism destination, the newly created Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau (KLTB) is evaluating three initiatives aimed at raising the city’s business events profile and increasing her market share, regionally and internationally.
The first initiative calls for the creation of a dedicated business events brand under the Kuala Lumpur City master brand.  A clear and consistent brand executed in all promotional and marketing communication across all stakeholder groups will enable Kuala Lumpur to promote her unique business events proposition and differentiate the city from her competitors.
 
Initiative two proposes the setting-up of a city convention bureau to customise bids and assist planners, as well as develop a sustainable funding model to ensure Kuala Lumpur’s bids for regional and international events remain competitive.

The third KLTB initiative is to establish the Kuala Lumpur Business Events Alliance (KLBEA). A strategic collaborative public-private sector partnership inclusive of industry associations, the corporate sector and government. The objective of the KLBEA will be to work cohesively to maximise opportunities to attract global business events and then, deliver on the meeting planners’ and delegate experience.
