More Kesatria to Help Attract More International Business Events to Malaysia!

Five new Kesatria (or knights) have been recently appointed under Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau's (MyCEB) Kesatria 1Malaysia Programme.
Launched in 2012, the programme identifies industry leaders (who subsequently work closely with local stakeholders) in an effort to attract more major international conventions and business events to Malaysia.
The latest addition brings the total number of Kesatria to 37. They all hail from various key economic sectors identified under the Malaysian Government’s National Key Economic Area (NKEA) projects including science and medicine, research and innovation, education and law.
The Centre would like to congratulate the five newly appointed Kesatria for 2016:
  • 1. Prof. Dr. Azirah Hashim, President of the Malaysia Association of Applied Linguistics (MAAL);
  • 2. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mafauzy Mohamed, Vice President of the Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society;
  • 3. Dato’ Dr. Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan, Chairman of Digestive Health Malaysia Society;
  • 4. Dr. Saunthari Somasundaram, President of the National Cancer Society of Malaysia; and
  • 5. Associate Prof. Dr. Zuhaina Zakaria, Chair of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Malaysia Section.
Their selection is much-deserved and acknowledges their continuing contributions and services to their respective associations and the country’s business events industry.
The Centre looks forward to working closely with all 37 Kesatria and industry partners to enhance Malaysia’s reputation as a premier business events destination and grow her footprint globally.
