KLCC BEA Partner Bytes

This issue, we sat down and had a chat with Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Business Events Alliance (KLCC BEA) partner, Christian Nannucci, General Manager Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur:
  1. Tell us about yourself.
I am Italian and have over 30 years’ experience across three continents in the hotel business. I have been working at Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur since October 2014.

  2. What role does business events play in your overall business mix?
With the Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre conveniently integrated, naturally it is an accommodation partner of choice for business and convention/conference attendees making business events an integral segment for the hotel.

  3. What do you offer business events clients?

All our rooms are modern and contemporary in design with views of the KLCC Park and the PETRONAS Twin Towers. 1. What attraction(s) do you think visitors to Kuala Lumpur must visit while in town?
In Kuala Lumpur, there is something for everyone, whether that is enjoying a ‘bird’s eye view’ of the city from the 88th floor observation deck of the PETRONAS Twin Towers, to indulging in retail therapy in the many shopping enclaves such as Suria KLCC, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Central Market, Chinatown (Petaling Street) and Little India, or going on a local culinary adventure at the famous food street, Jalan Alor, and of course, not forgetting SkyBar! where the views are amazing!

  2. What in your opinion can be done to attract more business events to Kuala Lumpur?
More marketing support from all stakeholders to promote Malaysia as a destination. There are wonderful facilities and destinations, great shopping and overall value for money here. We also need to make the local public transportation system easier and more efficient, as well as work closely with Malaysia Airlines and local stakeholders to further enhance the transportation network in/out of the country.

We have learned from the establishment of the KLCC BEA that if we collaborate and put in the time and effort we can deliver. But we cannot do this alone and we need more funds and a comprehensive marketing network to support us.
