Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB)
MyCEB recently unveiled its latest experiential Malaysia Twin Deal XP (MTDXP) programme, offering more value-added rewards at the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) 2017.
 
MTDXP Deal 1 offers international corporate meeting and incentive groups with a minimum of 30 participants, various value-added supports where larger groups stand to gain more, such as complimentary cultural performance, traditional welcome, traditional costume photo opportunity and partial sponsorship for dinner.
 
Deal 2 offers incentive rewards for corporate meeting and incentive planners and is based on cumulative numbers of participants. Corporate meeting and incentive planners will stand a chance to be rewarded with an iPad mini and a holiday for two to Kuala Lumpur or any two preferred destinations in Malaysia. 
 
Additionally, the MTDXP reward programme also includes special cumulative rewards for planners with a minimum of 3,000 participants for a familiarisation trip to Malaysia for up to four corporate clients of an international corporate meeting and incentive planner. The MTDXP is applicable for booking period from 1 January 2017 to 30 June 2018 and groups need to arrive before 31 December 2018.
 
The MTDXP programme will also support the highly popular Malaysia Like Never Before (MLNB) campaign which highlights the unique and new experiences of five key Malaysian destinations: Kuala Lumpur, George Town, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, for event planners and is specially customised to the corporate meeting and incentives market.

Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS)
MACEOS has recently established an Education and Training Sub-Committee. The purpose of the sub-committee is to grow the pool of young local business events industry talent and ensure they have skills equivalent to or better than international counterparts.
 
As part of this MACEOS, in conjunction with the Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (SACEOS), has developed two new training courses which upon completion, will provide participants with globally recognised credentials - Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) and Certified Exhibition Management (CEM).
 
The Professional Conference Management (PCM) programme was developed to deliver concepts on planning and execution of convention and conference events. The programme consists of the following topics - Introduction, Definition and Structure; Programme Development; Conference Marketing; Room Set-up; Planning Timeline; Special Requirements; Budgeting; Media Publicity; PCO Administrative Management; Operations and Logistics; and Bidding and Selection Process/Techniques. 
 
The Professional Exhibition Management (PEM) programme was developed to deliver the essential concepts to professionals on how to plan, manage and market exhibitions. The programme consists of the following topics - Overview of the Exhibition Industry; Function and Structure of the Project Team; Project Management Schedule; Sales and Marketing in Selling Exhibit Space; Visitor Promotion; Supplier and Venue Operations; Budgeting; Post Show Evaluation; Sustainability in the Exhibition Industry; and Event Technology.
