Beyond the Venue: How the Centre Powered a Strategic Food Security Dialogue at MyFoodConference 2025

MyFoodConference 2025

In 2025, the Centre partnered with Alun Jones from The Montgomery Group Asia to deliver a high-impact session on food security at MyFoodConference 2025. This collaboration was not merely about logistics, it was a demonstration of partnership, stewardship, shared values, and a deep commitment to shaping meaningful conversations around sustainability.

Building on a Proven Track Record

This engagement was a natural progression from the Centre’s successful collaborations with Constellar Exhibitions Malaysia Sdn Bhd at the Malaysia International Food and Beverage Show in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, the Centre provided full support on food waste management, and in 2024, we led the charge in persuading our precinct partners—Traders Hotel, Impiana KLCC Hotel, and the Centre itself—to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) committing to the sourcing of cage-free eggs. These initiatives showcased our ability to go far beyond venue provision and contribute meaningful thought leadership to the industry.

From Concept to Execution: A Session Rooted in Purpose

MyFoodConference 2025

In late 2024, the Centre initiated a strategic engagement with Alun Jones to collaborate on a session for the upcoming MyFoodConference 2025, part of the International Café and Beverage Show. Recognising the urgency and relevance of the topic, we proposed food security as the central theme—an intentional choice aimed at sparking dialogue and inspiring action across sectors.

We curated a panel of expert speakers representing diverse perspectives:

  • Mandarin Oriental – sharing insights on sustainable sourcing in luxury hospitality.
  • Traders Hotel – presenting their operational approach and local sourcing programme.
  • WWF Malaysia – highlighting initiatives that promote sustainable food systems.
  • The Centre’s General Manager – offering a candid view of our own sourcing strategies and the challenges faced in implementation.

To ensure the session’s success, the Centre organised a series of engagements with each speaker, aligning narratives, refining content, and building synergy. The session was moderated by our Head of Marketing and Communications, Julian Loh.

A True Partner to Organisers

MyFoodConference 2025

This case study exemplifies the Centre’s philosophy: we are not just a venue provider. We are strategic collaborators, thought partners, and advocates for meaningful content. We invest our time, expertise, and network to help organisers deliver sessions that matter.

From ideation to execution, the Centre was involved in every detail. This is the level of commitment event organisers can expect when they work with us. We don’t just host events—we help shape them.

Testimonial from Alun Jones

“The session curated, organised, and delivered by the Centre was exceptional. The topic of food security was not only timely. It was invigorating. It sparked meaningful dialogue and brought together voices that truly mattered.

It was evident that a tremendous amount of hard work, coordination, and care went into every detail from speaker selection to content development and on-site execution. The Centre’s team didn’t just support the session; they owned it.

The Centre is very committed to using their expertise and leadership position in matters of sustainability to help us put together a good conference session. This is something over and above what they need to do as a centre.

Their contribution elevated the overall quality of MyFoodConference 2025, enriching the programme with depth and relevance. When they say they are partners of organisers—this is exactly what they mean. And they deliver on it.”
