The 4th edition of KLCC Sustainable September 2026 was held together with KLCC myLearning Day, bringing together more than 1,000 participants and guests.
The day featured a range of activities focused on sustainability, learning and community support. Participants took part in sustainability pledges, blood donation, batik painting and other learning activities. A Charity Bazaar was also held to raise funds for communities in need.
We also held a conversation called “Let’s Talk Waste”, bringing together the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur and Suria KLCC.
The discussion looked at what each organisation has already done to reduce waste, how much waste is still being sent to landfill, the main challenges they face, and what needs to change within organisations and at government level. The speakers also shared practical ideas on how businesses can work together to reduce waste further.
A key highlight of the day was an important announcement by Datuk Salem, Chief Executive Officer of KLCC Holdings.
He shared a bold vision for all KLCC Precinct partners to work together towards creating a Zero Waste Precinct, with a goal of achieving 70% waste diversion from landfill.
This vision will require strong cooperation across the precinct, with business partners working together towards the same goal.
As the next action, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre will host the Zero Waste Precinct Symposium. The symposium will bring KLCC Precinct business entities together to discuss the way forward and identify practical actions to support this shared target.
The announcement marks an important direction for the KLCC Precinct and strengthens the collective commitment towards better waste management and a more sustainable future.
